Settling Into Sanur

Melaspas ceremony, marks our beginning with gratitude and good intentions. Since then, we’ve been getting to know the idea in practice: watching how people use the house, meeting our neighbors, and finding our place in the neighborhood.
Cafe Daśa opened its doors in Sanur with a fairly simple idea: to create a place that could belong to more than one moment of the day. Somewhere for breakfast in the morning, lunch that stretches a little longer, or dinner and drinks as the day winds down.
As we settle into Sanur, we first asked for blessings for the place we call home. Melaspas ceremony marks a new beginning with gratitude and good intentions. This is how our journey in Sanur begins.
The Melaspas was one of the first times we saw the house properly come together. Offerings were prepared, the team gathered, and the spaces we had spent months working on became part of something beyond the build itself. For us, it was a simple reminder that arriving somewhere new also means paying attention to the place you are entering. Since then, Cafe Daśa has started taking on a life of its own through the people coming through the doors, the tables being used, and the everyday routines beginning to form around us.
In the weeks since, we have started seeing how Cafe Daśa moves through the day. Morning coffee becomes lunch, afternoon tables stay a little longer, and by evening the house takes on a different character. Slowly, familiar faces are beginning to return.
We are still at the beginning. There are more people to meet, more stories around Sanur to understand, and more reasons for people to make Cafe Daśa part of their day. For now, we are settling into the neighborhood one table at a time.
